Beth McGuinness
CEO
Beth has served in many roles at MSA, providing support and training to organizations and encouraging new program development across Massachusetts. Through that work and her own experiences, Beth believes strongly that service and volunteerism are critical strategies to creating strong communities and supporting the growth of those who serve.

Communications and Operations

Lindsay Rooney
Director of Operations and External Affairs
Lindsay brings more than 20 years of nonprofit management and government relations experience to her work at MSA and loves building relationships with partners and supporters across the state. Lindsay has a B.A. from Brandeis University and an MPA from Suffolk University.
Julia Lee-Papastavros
Communications & Marketing Associate
Before joining MSA, Julia worked in marketing at early-stage startups and small nonprofits. At MSA, she manages most day-to-day communications, marketing, and design projects. She particularly enjoys harnessing the power of cross-platform analytics to determine ROI and improve website UX. In her free time, she loves to cook and develop videogames.
Saba Fiazuddin
Program and Operations Associate
Saba graduated from Mount Holyoke College where she studied International Relations. Previously, she has worked for a voting rights organization and a small independent documentary film. In her spare time, she loves writing, roller skating, and exploring new places.
Justina (Jeanie) Thompson
Growth Marketing Intern
Justina (Jeanie) recently joined MSA in January 2024 and will be assisting with several projects while working as MSA's Growth Marketing Intern. Additionally, Jeanie has also worked at several Boston-based organizations and recently finished a 7-month long Marketing internship at HubSpot. She sees value in amplifying social justice-focused efforts and feels deeply aligned with MSA’s commitments to antiracism.

Finance

Sarah Louise Adamczyk
Controller
Sarah Louise Adamczyk joined MSA in 2020, after managing AmeriCorps projects from concept development to regional expansion for fourteen years. She believes service and volunteerism allow communities to better leverage resources and strengthen connections among individuals. She attended Williams College (BA) and The University of Alabama (MBA).
Abdullahi Yusuf
Assistant Controller
Abdullahi began his current role at MSA in January 2020. Volunteerism and service is important to him because he believes when we come together and join our efforts, we can accomplish and do a lot more. Abdullahi deals with current day-to-day accounting activities working with the MSA Controller.
Sybelle Etienne
Grants & Fiscal Compliance Officer
Sybelle Etienne, born and raised in Haiti, joined MSA in 2021. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics and has had several volunteer experiences in her home country and the United States.
Mayan Kleiman
Grants & Fiscal Compliance Associate
Prior to joining MSA, Mayan worked at MetroWest Legal Services, where she was an Intake Worker. During her time at MetroWest Legal Services, Mayan saw first-hand the important impact that AmeriCorps volunteers can have for clients. Mayan graduated from Brandeis University with a B.A. in Sociology and International Global Studies and a minor in Economics.

AmeriCorps

Suzana Kantardzic
Director of AmeriCorps
Suzana started working at MSA in 2008 as a Program Officer and moved into her current position in 2014. Suzana leads the team of three other Program Officers administering and managing a robust portfolio of AmeriCorps State programs. Before coming to MSA, Suzana managed an AmeriCorps program at Local Initiatives Corporation.
Katie Koski
Senior Program Development and Training Officer
Katie joined MSA as an AmeriCorps Program Officer in 2017 with a background working in the higher education and nonprofit sectors. She has also worked at nonprofits that have focused on providing individuals with opportunities to impact their communities such as Teach for America, City Year, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Andrea Farren
AmeriCorps Program Officer
Andrea came to MSA in 2021 with a background in social work and public health. During her non-profit career, Andrea has seen first-hand how the infusion of AmeriCorps members can greatly impact an organization's ability to achieve its goals. At MSA, Andrea enjoys helping AmeriCorps programs operate in a way that is both compliant and meaningful.
Jared Jones
AmeriCorps Program Officer
Before joining MSA as an AmeriCorps Program Officer in 2021, Jared managed a series of international education programs in eight countries across Africa, Asia, and Oceania. As a Peace Corps volunteer in Namibia, he saw firsthand the potential for volunteerism to spark direct, sustainable change and to promote personal and community agency.
Peter Tam
AmeriCorps Program Officer
Peter is an AmeriCorps alum who brings over 14 years of non-profit experience to MSA. He worked primarily in community-serving organizations with a focus on young people. He hopes to bring an organizational perspective and understanding to the administrative and grantmaking processes at MSA.

Commonwealth Corps

Victoria Tucker
Commonwealth Corps Program Manager
Victoria is a lifelong learner joining MSA in 2023. Before beginning her nonprofit career she was an educator in the Lowell and Everett public schools. Victoria has a strong background in diversity, equity, and inclusion and is excited to strengthen communities and address critical needs through the Commonwealth Corps program.
Gayoon (Sally) Kim
Associate Commonwealth Corps Program Manager
Prior to joining MSA in February 2024, Sally worked to offer non-traditional learning opportunities in higher education. Sally received her BA in International Relations with a double minor in Korean and Public Relations from Boston University, and is working on an MA in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice Leadership at Tufts University.
Luis Santos
Commonwealth Corps Program Fellow
Luis joined MSA in 2023. As an AmeriCorps alumnus, he worked as a college adviser with College Advising Corps-Boston University for two years in BPS. He has taught ESOL in adult education and advised BIPOC students and immigrant families. As an educator, Luis believes diversity and equity is possible through collaborative efforts, resource sharing, and developing evidence based best practices.

Volunteerism Initiatives

Lisl Hacker
Director of Training and Technical Assistance
Lisl joined MSA in 2014 and believes that service/volunteerism is a key to building long-term sustainability and increased capacity at nonprofits across the state. Although it has slowed down in recent years since becoming a parent (which is her true passion), she also has a passion for traveling and has visited almost 50 different countries.
Ian Whalen-Stone
Program Officer for Volunteer Initiatives
Ian is a nonprofit professional who previously worked in clinical trial operations, expanding access to healthcare, and supporting the caregivers of LGBTQIA+ individuals through mutual aid. They received their B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they also served as an AmeriCorps VISTA as a Student Leader in Service.
