Happy Wednesday; I hope you’re enjoying the sunny weather! There is only a few weeks until our Conference on Volunteerism on May 7th. It only happens every two years, so be sure to grab your tickets if you haven’t already.

This year’s conference asks everyone to think about genuine authenticity and its relationship with leadership. Attendees will have ample opportunity to think about volunteerism through this lens, choosing from over a dozen workshops (ranging from “Introduction to Disability & Inclusion: Building an Inclusive Volunteer Program” to “Mobilizing Community to Solve the Refugee Crisis in Massachusetts”), using breakfast, lunch, and structured time to network, and listening to a keynote from a successful nonprofit consultant focused on board development.

We also wanted to take a moment to introduce State Senator Robyn Kennedy, who will be providing our conference’s Special Welcoming Remarks!

State Senator Robyn Kennedy

MSA is thrilled to have State Senator Robyn Kennedy providing the conference’s Special Welcoming Remarks.

Senator Robyn Kennedy, born and raised in Worcester, MA, serves as the State Senator of the First Worcester District with a specific focus on the care economy, from childcare to elder care, investing in our workforce, improving regional public transportation, and reducing the gap on racial and health inequities. She most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer at the YWCA Central MA. She has also previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to former Lt. Governor Tim Murray and the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Children, Youth, and Families at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Service.
